On Saturday, December 13, 2025, Fr. Yurii and one of our parish cantors traveled 120 miles (one way!) to the Coachella Valley for the third Divine Liturgy this year for the renewed St. Michael’s Ukrainian Catholic Mission Community to prepare for the Birth of Christ.
The Community gathered again at Christ of the Desert Chapel in Palm Desert.
With the blessing of Bishop Benedict, the St. Michael Ukrainian Catholic Mission Community of the Coachella Valley (Palm Springs area) was renewed this year beginning with Pascha. The mission community, founded in the 1980s, met for many years in neighboring Desert Hot Springs and Palm Springs. After about a decade of being dormant, the Community renewed in Spring of 2025. Guardianship of St. Michael’s was tranfered to Fr. Yurii Sas of the San Diego parish.
The Church is renewing and growing! Слава Богу за все!
